Passive Ammonia Production At Room Temperature

Researchers at Stanford University and King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals have developed a method of producing ammonia at room temperature and at standard atmospheric pressure, without electricity. Scaling up the technology would eliminate the need for the Haber-Bosch process, which contributes to 1.2% of global GHG emissions when producing the high pressure and high temperature needed during the process.

Quantum Teleportation In Existing Fibre Optics

Engineers at Northwestern University have demonstrated quantum teleportation of entangled photons using existing internet fibre optic cables, while the cables carried regular internet data traffic. The entangled photons located at either end of the 30 km long fibre optic cable exchanged information without the need for the information to be transmitted the distance of the cable.

Attitutes To Climate Change Using A Person-Centered Framework

The EPA published a fascinating review of climate attitudes conducted by researchers at DCU. The work reviewed 4610 studies on climate attitudes, which were then filtered down to 66 studies that were analysed using the Bronfenbrenner person-centred bioecological systems model. The results show that trust in institutions and the beliefs of one's social circle influence one's attitudes to climate change.
